A year of exploring
25 Feb 2025

I've been coding almost everyday after graduating, building stuff, understanding concepts, trying different frameworks, solving problems

All of this has helped me enter the flow state, which in turn makes me happier and more present, it helps satisfy my curiosity for sure

If I were to break down my last year, it would look something like this:

Exploring the cyber security world,

  • Especially its penetration testing
  • Where I found out I love to play around until I solve a problem
  • There is not really much resources and tutorials for penetration testing tools, you really have to take on the trail and error mindset and keep on trying

On the side I always have enjoyed building mobile applications, I loved the feeling of making an actual product

  • I explored different frameworks
    • Flutter, which I loved and enjoyed in college and afterward as my go to when I want to play around and build an application, it feels like building an app with customizable LEGO pieces
    • React native, has it own feel, it lets you do all the work, to build your own components from scratch and customize them as much as you want

I also enjoyed building web applications

  • Building and maintaining my father's website has been a blast
  • My first ever deployed application :)

Finally building ML models

AI in general has always intrigued me, but I have not explored it deeper than its theoretical concepts which I find fascinating, but I gave my self the chance to learn it more in depth and try to mimic already built models or fine tune existing ones

  • Deploying ML models had made me so happy
  • I loved testing my food vision model with real food—a mini cupcake—and seeing it correctly predict the label!
  • As well as starting to replicate research papers has been a fun challenge, the feel of figuring out a concept is unmatched

Along it all, I had the pleasure of talking and learning about other professionals experiences in different fields such as

  • Devops engineering
  • Integration development engineering
  • Web development
  • Mobile development
  • AI/ML engineering
  • Project management
  • Data engineering
  • Penetration testing
  • Robotics engineering

I could not thank each of them enough for giving me their time and helping me understand their daily tasks at the job and the skill set needed for it, or even the road map to mastering their career

Excited for the road ahead, and I believe I have found it

Building useful, helpful and impactful solution as I transition into AI/ML engineering
